Helping the Little Ones Love their Faith

This little ministry the Liturgy of the Word for Children (LWC), began in June 1993 with a simple mission to:

1. Instill in a child the love, interest, and appreciation of God’s Holy Word
2. Strengthen the child’s commitment and faith in the doctrines and community of the church
3. Encourage the children to participate in the liturgy and create a sense of belonging
4. Simplify God’s Word to a child’s level of understanding.

LWC does not replace Sunday School, which spearheads the formation of Catholic children, but enhances it. It allows for the children who have just come from a Sunday School lesson to be more fully engaged in what they have learnt. Led by experienced teachers and facilitators with a love for children and for bringing God’s Holy Word to life, classes are lively, filled with learning, laughter and song. Lessons are usually fortnightly until advised otherwise.
